Jotla — Privacy Policy

Jotla ("the App", "we") is a camera and note-keeping app with an optional messaging feature ("Jotla Message"). This policy explains what data the App handles and how. The core promise: your photos stay on your device and in your own cloud account — we do not run a server that stores your photos. Jotla Message uses our server only to deliver messages in transit, not to keep them.

1. Photos & content you create

• Photos taken in Jotla are stored in the App's private storage on your device. They are not added to your device's native photo library/gallery unless you explicitly use the "Export to Photos" feature.
• Notes, project names, and text recognised from your photos are stored locally with the photo.

2. Optional cloud backup (iCloud Drive / Google Drive)

• Cloud backup is off by default. If you turn it on, your photos and a metadata file are copied to your own iCloud Drive (Apple) or Google Drive account.
• For Google Drive we request only the drive.file scope — this lets the App access only the files it creates inside your Drive. We cannot see or touch any of your other Google Drive files.
• We do not receive, store, or have access to these backups. They live in your personal cloud account and are governed by Apple's / Google's privacy policies.

3. On-device text recognition (OCR)

Text in your photos is recognised on-device using Apple Vision (iOS) or Google ML Kit (Android). The recognised text is stored locally with the photo and is not sent to us or any third party.

4. Location (optional)

If you enable the GPS watermark, your location at capture time is recorded and stored locally with that photo. It is not shared with us. You can disable this any time.

5. Jotla Message (optional)

Jotla Message is an opt-in chat feature. It is the only part of the App that uses an account and our own server. If you never sign in to Jotla Message, none of the data in this section is collected.

• Account. You sign in with Google or Apple. We store on our server: your email address, display name, a username you choose, a randomly assigned Jotla Number, your profile photo, and any optional profile details you choose to fill in (e.g. bio, country/region, languages, occupation or business details). Optional profile details are visible to other users according to your own visibility settings, and you can leave any of them empty.
• Messages & media are in transit only. Messages, photos, voice notes, videos and stickers you send are relayed through our server and deleted from the server once every member of the chat has received them (or after 30 days at most, whichever comes first). We do not keep a server-side archive of your conversations. Your chat history lives on your device.
• Contacts & groups. Your Jotla contact list, block/visibility choices, and group memberships are stored on our server so your contacts work across reinstalls. We never access your phone's address book.
• Online status. Your chosen status (e.g. Available / Do Not Disturb / Invisible) and whether you are online may be shown to your contacts, controlled by your status and per-person visibility settings.
• Discovery. Other users can find you by your exact username, Jotla Number, QR code or invite link. Optional discovery features are controlled by your "discoverable" setting.
• Chat backup (optional). You can back up your chat history to your own Google Drive (drive.file scope, same as photo backup). We do not receive or store these backups.
• Server security. The messaging server stores account and contact data (not message archives) and is backed up daily in encrypted form for up to 14 days, for disaster recovery only.
• Deletion. You can delete individual messages for yourself or recall sent messages. To delete your Jotla Message account and its server data entirely, contact us at the email above and we will remove it.

6. Analytics & push notifications (Firebase)

• Firebase Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated usage data (e.g. app opens, sessions, screen views, crashes, device type) to help us improve the App. It does not include your photos, notes, or recognised text.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging uses a device token to deliver notifications. For Jotla Message, notifications may include the sender's name and a preview of the message so the notification is useful; this passes through Apple/Google's push services in the standard way and is not stored by us.

7. Biometric lock

If you enable Face ID / Touch ID, authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system. We never receive or store your biometric data.

8. Data retention & deletion

• You control your data. Deleted photos go to a "Recently Deleted" trash for 30 days, then are permanently removed (locally and from your cloud backup).
• Uninstalling the App removes all local data. Any cloud backups remain in your own iCloud / Google Drive account until you delete them there.
• Jotla Message data on our server can be deleted on request — see section 5.

9. Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data. The App only sends data to: your chosen cloud (iCloud / Google Drive), Google Firebase (analytics / push), and — only if you use Jotla Message — our messaging server, as described above.

10. Children

Jotla is not directed at children under 13.

11. Changes

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change accordingly.

1. 你建立的相片及內容

• 在 Jotla 拍攝的相片儲存在裝置上本應用程式的私人儲存空間，不會進入裝置的原生相簿，除非你主動使用「匯出到相片」功能。
• 備註、相簿名稱、以及從相片辨識出的文字，都與相片一起儲存在本機。

2. 可選的雲端備份（iCloud Drive / Google Drive）

• 雲端備份預設關閉。若你開啟，相片及一個 metadata 檔案會複製到你自己的 iCloud Drive（Apple）或 Google Drive 帳戶。
• 對 Google Drive，我們只要求 drive.file 權限 — 本應用程式只能存取它自己建立的檔案，無法看到或觸碰你 Google Drive 內其他任何檔案。
• 我們不會收到、儲存或存取這些備份。它們存放在你的個人雲端帳戶，受 Apple／Google 的私隱政策規管。

3. 裝置端文字辨識（OCR）

相片中的文字以裝置端方式辨識（iOS 用 Apple Vision、Android 用 Google ML Kit）。辨識結果與相片一起儲存於本機，不會傳送給我們或任何第三方。

4. 位置（可選）

若你開啟 GPS 水印，拍攝當時的位置會與該相片一同儲存於本機，不會分享給我們。你可隨時關閉。

5. Jotla Message（可選）

Jotla Message 是可選的聊天功能，是本應用程式中唯一使用帳戶及我們自家伺服器的部分。如果你從未登入 Jotla Message，本節所述的資料一概不會被收集。

• 帳戶。你以 Google 或 Apple 帳戶登入。我們會在伺服器儲存：你的電郵地址、顯示名稱、你選擇的 username、隨機分配的 Jotla Number、頭像，以及你自願填寫的個人檔案資料（例如自我介紹、國家／地區、語言、職業或商業資料）。自願填寫的檔案資料會按你自己的可見度設定向其他用戶顯示，全部可以留空。
• 訊息及媒體只在傳送途中經過伺服器。你發送的訊息、相片、語音、影片及貼圖經我們的伺服器中轉，當聊天內所有成員都收到後即從伺服器刪除（最長不超過 30 天，以較早者為準）。我們不會在伺服器保存你的對話紀錄 — 聊天紀錄只存在你的裝置上。
• 聯絡人及群組。你的 Jotla 聯絡人清單、封鎖／可見度選擇及群組成員資格會儲存於伺服器，令重裝後聯絡人仍然可用。我們絕不讀取你手機的通訊錄。
• 上線狀態。你選擇的狀態（例如「在線」／「請勿打擾」／「隱身」）及是否在線可能向你的聯絡人顯示，由你的狀態及逐人可見度設定控制。
• 搜尋。其他用戶可以透過完整 username、Jotla Number、QR code 或邀請連結找到你。可選的探索功能由你的「可被搜尋」設定控制。
• 對話備份（可選）。你可以將聊天紀錄備份到你自己的 Google Drive（drive.file 權限，與相片備份相同）。我們不會收到或儲存這些備份。
• 伺服器安全。訊息伺服器儲存帳戶及聯絡人資料（不儲存對話紀錄），並每日加密備份、最多保留 14 天，僅用於災難復原。
• 刪除。你可以為自己刪除個別訊息，或回收已發送的訊息。如需完全刪除你的 Jotla Message 帳戶及其伺服器資料，請以上方電郵聯絡我們，我們會予以移除。

6. 統計分析及推送通知（Firebase）

• Firebase Analytics 收集匿名、彙總的使用數據（例如開啟次數、工作階段、畫面瀏覽、當機、裝置類型）以改善應用程式，不包含你的相片、備註或辨識文字。
• Firebase Cloud Messaging 使用裝置權杖傳送通知。Jotla Message 的通知可能包含發送者名稱及訊息預覽，以標準方式經 Apple／Google 推送服務傳遞，我們不會儲存。

7. 生物識別解鎖

若你開啟 Face ID／Touch ID，驗證完全由裝置作業系統處理，我們不會收到或儲存你的生物識別資料。

8. 資料保留及刪除

• 你掌控你的資料。已刪除的相片會進入「最近刪除」垃圾桶 30 天，之後永久移除（本機及雲端備份）。
• 解除安裝會移除所有本機資料；任何雲端備份會保留在你自己的 iCloud／Google Drive 帳戶，直至你在該處刪除。
• Jotla Message 在伺服器上的資料可應要求刪除 — 見第 5 節。

9. 分享

我們不會出售或分享你的個人資料。本應用程式只會將資料傳送至：你選擇的雲端（iCloud／Google Drive）、Google Firebase（統計／推送），以及 — 僅當你使用 Jotla Message 時 — 我們的訊息伺服器，如上所述。

10. 兒童

Jotla 並非針對 13 歲以下兒童。

我們可能更新本政策，並會相應更改「最後更新」日期。
